AUSTIN HUBBARD VS KURT HOLOBAUGH LOWDOWN
Austin Hubbard (15-6) heads to Boston on a mission of redemption. He has reached the finale with fellow a veteran hoping to cement his place back in the big time. He went 3-4 in his first UFC stint failing to string two wins together. He collected two comfortable dubs on the regional scene before entering The Ultimate Fighter house where he outpointed Aaron McKenzie and Roosevelt Roberts.
Kurt Holobaugh (19-7(1)) was less successful in the UFC losing all four of his fights. In fairness, in his second stint he got handed three killers. He got knocked out by Raoni Barcelos (2018) and submitted by Shane Burgos (2018). He was then welcomed up to lightweight by Thiago Moises (2019) and lost a unanimous decision. He went on to pick up a couple knockouts for XFC before entering the house where he came from behind to submit Lee Hammond and knock out fellow vet Jason Knight.
AUSTIN HUBBARD VS KURT HOLOBAUGH PREDICTION
They match up very similarly physically but will approach this differently. Holobaugh will be more aggressive and will try and force the action by walking Hubbard down and enforcing a pressure with his striking. He hits hard and will try and keep up the pace for three rounds.
Hubbard is also a solid striker with good cardio, but he will be more cautious and mix in his grappling where he can to dictate the tempo of the fight. This should be a gritty battle that will be competitive until the bell.
Considering the odds, Holobaugh is the value pick, but we are backing the favourite to convince the judges with his volume and by mixing in his grappling at the right times.
