ARMEN PETROSYAN VS CHRISTIAN LEROY DUNCAN LOWDOWN
Despite appearing on the Contender Series with six MMA fights to his name, Armen Petrosyan (8-2) has only fought killers. After knocking out Kaloyan Kolev (2021) to get the UFC contract he met Gregory Rodrigues (2022) on his debut and won a split decision. That earnt him a fight with fellow prospect Caio Borralho (2022) but suffered his second loss getting grinded out in a decision. However, he capped last year off with another classy unanimous decision over AJ Dobson.
Christian Leroy Duncan (8-0) heads to the APEX to finally get his UFC career off the ground. He made his UFC debut off the back of capturing the Cage Warriors middleweight title with a flying knee on Djati Melan and defending the belt with an equally flash spinning elbow on Marian Dimitrov last year. He made his debut against Dusko Todorovic at UFC 286 in London, but the fight ended prematurely after the Serbian injured his knee.
ARMEN PETROSYAN VS CHRISTIAN LEROY DUNCAN PREDICTION
This should be an absolute spectacle on the feet between these two electrifying strikers. Petrosyan is a very experienced kickboxer with a record of 70-22-1 and he has already displayed decent takedown defence considering.
Duncan is not as technical, but he is just as effective and very unpredictable. He can inflict damage from range with a varied arsenal of strikes. He is also more experienced than his record suggests with 23 amateur fights under his belt.
This should be a violent battle on the feet with a knockout possible, but we feel their defence will hold up forcing this to the bell. In a stand-up contest, it is hard to back against the seasoned kickboxer and as the underdog, he is the smart pick.
Prediction: Petrosyan via Decision
Value bet: Petrosyan to win
