Currently, 2-1 in the UFC, Ariane Carnelossi (14-2) will be aiming to pick up her third successive win in a row when she fights this weekend at UFC 274. Coming off of a submission win against Istela Nunes, Carnelossi will be full of confidence this weekend. The Brazilian native is 4-1 in her last five professional outings.
As for Lupita Godinez (7-2), she will be looking to make it back to back wins for the first time since 2020. Currently 2-2 with the UFC, Godinez is coming off of a crucial win against Loma Lookboonmee back in November of 2021. For the Mexican native, another impressive win will certainly do her the world of good going forward.

Heading into this weekend’s strawweight showdown, both fighters will be coming in at 5’2. However, Carnelossi just edges the reach department. In this fight, Godinez will have to stick to her bread and butter, which is her great wrestling. Throughout her fights in the UFC so far, Lupita has made some questionable choices during her fights. Therefore, if she stays sharp, she should get the job done.
Lupita will look to exploit Carnelossi’s poor takedown defence. With that being said, Carnelossi does pose a threat on the feet. We suspect that Godines will get the fight to the floor early on and look to control Carnelossi for the full fifteen minutes.
