ANDREA LEE VS MONTANA DE LA ROSA LOWDOWN
Andrea Lee (13-9) is fighting for her UFC career sitting on a four-fight skid. In typical inconsistent fashion she bounced back from three-straight losses by submitting Antonina Shevchenko and TKOing Cynthia Calvillo in 2021. Since then, she has gone on to lose four decisions in a row to Viviane Araujo (2022), Maycee Barber (2023), Natalia Silva (2023) and Miranda Maverick (2024).
Montana De La Rosa (12-9-1) is also fighting for her spot on the roster after some tough match-ups. After fighting to a draw with Mayra Bueno Silva (2021) who went on to fight for the bantamweight title, she TKO’d Ariane Lipski (2021). She then lost a unanimous decision to Maycee Barber (2022), got submitted by Tatiana Suarez (2023) and lost another unanimous decision to JJ Aldrich (2023).

Lee is a striker by trade who can grapple whereas De La Rosa’s game plan usually evolves around her wrestling. She decided to abandon it in her fight with Aldrich which was fatal, so it will be interesting to see if she goes back to her bread and butter here.
Lee actually lands more takedowns, however, De La Rosa’s top control is a lot stronger and she will look to pin Lee down and keep her there.
If Lee defends the early takedowns, we can see De La Rosa get disheartened and resort to her striking. This will be what Lee hopes for as she is a better striker with more technique and speed.
If De La Rosa is stubborn and persistent with the takedowns, she can edge out a close decision. However, we expect Lee to defend the initial takedowns and convince the judges with her striking.
