AMANDA RIBAS VS MAYCEE BARBER LOWDOWN

Amanda Ribas (12-3) started her UFC campaign off with a four-fight streak only for Marina Rodriguez (2021) to stop her in her tracks with a TKO. She responded with a unanimous decision over Virna Jandiroba (2021) but then Katlyn Chookagian squeaked a split decision to prevent any momentum. However, she is coming off a big win and unanimous decision over Viviane Araujo back in March so another win here will put her back on course for a title shot.

Maycee Barber (12-2) has not quite lived up to the hype, but she is sitting on a four-fight win streak which is usually enough to earn a title shot in this division. Unanimous decision losses to Roxanne Modafferi (2020) and Alexa Grasso (2021) set her back, but she has gone on to earn decisions over Miranda Maverick (2021), Montana De La Rosa (2022), Jessica Eye (2022) and Andrea Lee (2023) to take her UFC tally to (7-2).

AMANDA RIBAS VS MAYCEE BARBER PREDICTION

Ribas is 2-2 in her last four, but she is one of the most skilled fighters on the roster. Her technical ability is a level above Barber in every area. Where Barber has the edge is her power and she continues to to improve.

We expect her to look threatening in the first round and test the weak chin of Ribas, but as the fight goes on the class of the Brazilian should begin to shine through. We expect her to begin to out land and out work Barber and as soon as she sees an opening she will shoot in for a takedown.

Barber will put up a fight with her brute strength, but Ribas has the technique to get the fight to the ground and keep her there. Ribas should cruise a decision and depending on how hurt / tired Barber gets, a submission is not out of the question.

Prediction: Ribas via Decision

Value Bet: Ribas via Submission
