AIEMANN ZAHABI VS JAVID BASHARAT LOWDOWN
When Aiemann Zahabi (10-2) took a couple years off sitting on a humbling two-fight skid including that brutal knockout courtesy of Ricardo Ramos’ (2017) spinning back elbow, we were not sure if we would see him again. However, he returned in 2021 and starched Drako Rodriguez earning a ‘Performance of the Night’. He went on to earn a unanimous decision over Ricky Turcios (2022) and is coming off another stellar knockout which was over Aori Qileng (2023) at UFC 289 to turn his career around.
Javid Basharat’s (14-0(1)) career has only gone way since making his professional debut in 2016. He entered the UFC off the back of a successful Contender series audition and has gone on to earn three classy unanimous decisions over Trevin Jones (2022), Tony Gravely (2022) and Mateus Mendonca (2023). He then met Victor Henry (2023) at 294 and executed a blistering nut shot, unintentionally of course which Henry could not recover from.
AIEMANN ZAHABI VS JAVID BASHARAT PREDICTION
This is a tougher test for Basharat. He is extremely confident as his well-rounded skill set has seen him through every test so far, but he has to respect Zahabi’s power.
Zahabi is also well-rounded, but he will try and keep this on the feet. Basharat will be confident of trading with him, and we expect his movement to keep him out of range while timing his level-changes.
If Zahabi can defend the takedowns, this will be very competitive, but we expect Basharat’s wrestling to make the difference and sway the judges.
