LERONE MURPHY: ENGLISHMAN DETERMINED TO STAY UNBEATEN
Englishman Lerone Murphy (14-0-1) comes into this UFC 308 clash with Dan Ige on a superb run and is showing that he can rise to the occasion when involved in big fights. He may have won his last three by decision but his fight against Edson Barboza last time out in May was a Fight of the Night. He has seven wins by knockout and seven by decision and the Manchester native will be looking to continue his run up the rankings with seventh successive win in the Octagon.
DAN IGE: HAWAIIAN STAR DESPERATELY NEEDS WIN
UFC veteran Dan Ige (18-8) is a four-time Performance of the Night bonus winner and while his recent results have not been the best, he is always involved in entertaining fights. After six wins in his first seven fights in the UFC, he has lost six of his last ten fights now and he risks slipping out of the top 15 if he loses again here. He comes of a unanimous decision loss at the hands of the talented Diego Lopes at UFC 303 and desperately needs to rebound here.
LERONE MURPHY VS DAN IGE PREDICTION
This is yet another high-quality bout on the UFC 308 card as Lerone Murphy faces off against Dan Ige. The Brit is the unquestioned favourite coming into this one and he has yet to be find his level in the UFC. He has risen to every challenge put in front of him and it will be interesting to see how far he can go.
The sense with Dan Ige is that he has plateaued and age is not on his side neither. He has been a little unfortunate and we can cut him some slack for his desire to fight and how flexible he has been. It has worked against him in recent times and it has backfired.
Murphy is a quality fighter and we just think he has too much energy and hunger for Ige. The American is on a downward spiral and will find this tough, against Murphy who is flying with confidence. We do not see him being stopped but we like Murphy to get the decision.
