JUN YONG PARK VS ANDRE MUNIZ LOWDOWN

Jun Yong Park (17-5) is sneaking up the middleweight rankings. He is 7-2 in the UFC now and after getting knocked out by Gregory Rodrigues (2021) he has gone on to string four impressive wins together. He squeaked a split decision over Eryk Anders (2022) before submitting Joseph Holmes (2022), Denis Tiuliulin (2023) and Albert Duraev (2023).

Now, he he takes on a jiu-jitsu wizard in Andre Muniz (23-6). After submitting Bartosz Fabinski (2020), Jacare Souza (2021), Anders (2021) and outpointing Uriah Hall (2022), he met his grappling match in Brendan Allen and Paul Craig last year. Allen inflicted the first submission loss of his MMA career and Craig pounded him out to dent his record.

JUN YONG PARK VS ANDRE MUNIZ PREDICTION

After submitting his last three opponents and watching Muniz’s last two fights, he will fancy he chances on the mat. However, he made have a rude awakening and will be better off keeping the fight on the feet.

Muniz is a very good striker and his jiu-jitsu is still top tier. However, there will be a lot of question marks over his mentality after getting finished twice especially as Park is arriving in the form of his life.

Park will be confident he can win the striking battle with the wrestling and jiu-jitsu to subdue Muniz’s weapons. If the Brazilian turns up and is aggressive and does not hesitate to pull the trigger on the feet and executes a strategy to get the fight to the floor, he could easily bounce back with a win.

However, this is a tough match-up as Park is very durable with quality jiu-jitsu and is the more technical striker. We are backing the South Korean to earn a decision but can easily see Muniz pulling off the upset.

Prediction: Park via Decision

Value bet: Muniz to win
