JULIA POLASTRI: BRAZILIAN LOOKING FOR FIRST WIN IN OCTAGON

Julia Polastri (12-4) lost on her UFC debut back in June so she will be looking to get that first win under her belt. She lost a unanimous decision to Josefine Lindgren Knutsson at UFC on ESPN 58 and she will want to get a win to show she belongs in the organisation. Prior to that, she had a four-fight win streak and she has largely built her record in the regional promotions in Brazil.

CORY MCKENNA: WELSH FIGHTER LOOKING TO ADJUST AGAINST NEW OPPONENT

Cory McKenna (8-3) is coming off a submission loss at the hands of Jaqueline Amorim at UFC Fight Night: Tuivasa vs Tybura and she will be desperate to bounce back here. She was originally slated to face Polyana Viana but she withdrew so now the first-ever Welsh female fighter in the UFC meets Polastri as she looks to get back on track.

JULIA POLASTRI VS CORY MCKENNA PREDICTION

The UFC matchmakers have managed to put together a really fascinating rearranged fight here after Polyana Viana dropped out as debutant Julia Polastri steps in to face Cory McKenna.

McKenna has experience in the Octagon on her side as she has had five fights in the organisation, winning three of those bouts.

Polastri however is a year older at 26 and has had more fights (16 to 11) albeit at a lower level.

Much will depend on how Polastri steps up in the big time but we have to lean towards McKenna’s greater exposure at a higher level.

Neither fighter possesses much power and this is one fight that we fully expect will go the distance. That is our preferred bet over picking a winner even if we marginally prefer McKenna.

PREDICTION: FIGHT TO GO THE DISTANCE
