JOSELYNE EDWARDS: PANAMIAN STAR AIMING TO BOUNCE BACK

Joselyne Edwards (13-6) has suffered back-to-back unanimous decision losses so she will be desperate to respond here. Prior to that she was on a three-fight winning streak but in two of those she had missed weight. Whether she is struggling with making the bantamweight cut off, she has struggled in her last two fights when she has made weight. The 29-year-old needs a win to regain some momentum and she will look to do that against Vidal here.

TAMIRES VIDAL: BRAZILIAN RETURNS AFTER FIRST BACK-TO-BACK LOSSES

26-year-old Brazilian Tamires Vidal (7-3) has lost consecutive fights for the first time in her career and her TKO loss last time out was the first time she was stopped that way in her career. Before this skid, she had won six fights in a row which brought her to the attention of the UFC and she won her Octagon debut in style. She beat Ramona Pascual with a flying knee to the body to earn a TKO win and she will look to rekindle that magic once again.

JOSELYNE EDWARDS VS TAMIRES VIDAL PREDICTION

It is Joselyne Edwards who comes into this bout as clear favourite but much will depend on how her weight cut has gone and what version of her turns up. Tamires Vidal is no pushover but equally, it will be interesting to see how she can respond to her first TKO loss of her career.

That may see her approach this a little more cautiously than usual even if she does possess knockout power of her own. With that in mind, and the fact that Edwards’ last five fights have all gone the distance, we’re tipping this fight to go to the scorecards.

PREDICTION: FIGHT TO GO THE DISTANCE
