GEOFF NEAL: HANDZ OF STEEL KEEN TO END TWO-FIGHT SKID
Geoff Neal (15-6) is coming off successive losses which have knocked him out of contention in the welterweight division and it is hard to see him getting back to the upper echelons of the division now. He has an impressive resume and was making big strides in the division as he registered a win over Belal Muhammad back in 2019 and TKO wins over Niko Price and Mike Perry. Back-to-back losses over Stephen Thompson and Neil Magny set him back somewhat before he registered wins over Santiago Ponzinibbio and Vicente Luque. These two losses have dented his hopes however of staying relevant and nothing short of a win will suffice here.
RAFAEL DOS ANJOS: VETERAN IN 49TH PRO MMA FIGHT
Brazilian legend Rafael dos Anjos (32-16) is on a downward trajectory in his career right now having gone 4-7 in his last 11 fights. This fight means his professional MMA career has now spanned over 20 years since making his debut in September 2004 and the veteran will be eager to get back to winning ways. He dropped to lightweight in his last bout that saw him lose to Mateusz Gamrot but he goes back up to welterweight for this one which will suit him much better.
GEOFF NEAL VS RAFAEL DOS ANJOS PREDICTION
Two veterans collide on the final fight of the prelims as Geoff Neal meets Rafael dos Anjos. Both fighters are in need of a win to prolong their careers and there will likely be an element of desperation for the pair.
Neal has been fighting at a higher level in recent years and despite losing four of his last six, he has faced some quality operators. Dos Anjos has not been able to fight at the same level and his performance levels are fading. He has lost seven of his last 11 and has arguably faced significantly weaker opposition than Neal.
For those reasons, we have to favour Neal here. He should have more in the tank left than Dos Anjos and he should be able to get a win over the Brazilian.
