DARREN ELKINS: VET LOOKING FOR BACK-TO-BACK WINS
Darren Elkins 28-11 returns to the Octagon after just over one year out of action as he comes off a submission win over TJ Brown. The 40-year-old shows no signs of slowing down and he will further look to cement his legacy with another win here. His knockout power may be waning slightly having not knocked an opponent out since 2021, but he remains as skilled as ever in his wrestling and that will be the key to his success here.
DANIEL PINEDA: 39-YEAR-OLD SEEKS TO BOUNCE BACK FROM CONSECUTIVE LOSSES
Daniel Pineda (28-16 with three no contests) will be eager to get back to winning ways after losing his last two fights by unanimous decision. His last fight came in July in Manchester, England where Nathaniel Wood got the decision and Pineda will be desperate to snap this short skid. He has stayed active with this being his fourth fight in the last 18 months. That will likely benefit him but he will not want to stand a third successive loss at this stage in his career.
DARREN ELKINS VS DANIEL PINEDA PREDICTION
Both of these fighters are in the twilight of their careers but this match will not be short of entertainment. The two men know how to put on a fight and while a knockout and boxing match is unlikely, it will be a really good test of their skills and who can get Octagon control.
We fancy Elkins to edge this one. Interestingly Pineda has never won a fight that has gone the distance and as his knockout power wanes, that leaves him with submissions as his most likely route to win. Elkins is strong and well-skilled however and we see him winning the battle. Both are capable of a submission at any point but we have to favour this one going the distance.
PREDICTION: DARREN ELKINS TO WIN BY DECISION
