DANIEL ZELLHUBER: GOLDEN BOY ZELLHUBER LOOKING FOR STATEMENT WIN AT UFC 306
It is almost two years to the day that Daniel Zellhuber made his debut in the UFC and while he suffered his only professional MMA loss in that fight – losing a decision to Trey Ogden – he has since won all three bouts and is looking better with every fight.
In two of those three bouts, he won Performance of the Night and a Fight of the Night bonuses and his confidence and belief that he can do it at this level is growing by the fight. The talented 25-year-old will relish the opportunity of the size of the stage at UFC 306 and he will know a win could really catapult him.
ESTEBAN RIBOVICS: EL GRINGO FIRED UP TO IMPROVE 13-1 RECORD
Argentine 28-year-old Daniel Ribovics endured a similar fate on his UFC debut as he lost a unanimous decision to Loik Radzhabov at UFC 285 in March 2023. He has since won his last two bouts and the knockout head kick to beat Terrance McKinney in May really made folks sit up and take notice of him. All but one of his 13 wins have come via stoppage (seven knockouts with five submissions) and he will be looking to make his own statement in The Sphere.
DANIEL ZELLHUBER VS ESTEBAN RIBOVICS PREDICTION
This fight between Zellhuber and Ribovics has fireworks written all over it. Both possess good submissions and plenty of punching power which makes a stoppage quite possible, but this could easily be a 15-minute war with plenty of swings both ways.
Both fighters are classically tough and have stood out in the lower organisations beating everybody that has stepped in their path. They are used to winning and they are beginning to show their credentials now on the big stage.
We marginally prefer Zellhuber in this one. He has similar skills to Ribovics but has shown he can also grit it out over the longer fights and win decisions. That gives us a fraction more confidence in him but be wary of this one, it could easily go either way.
