DANIEL BAREZ: SPANIARD DESPERATE FOR FIRST WIN IN OCTAGON

Spain’s Daniel Barez comes into this fight off a loss on his UFC debut as Jafel Filho submitted him at UFC Fight Night 224 in July 2023. He has a 16-6 record but that was his first fight in the UFC as all his other bouts have come in regional promotions. He did participate in the Contender Series back in 2021 but he lost out then so he will be desperate to prove himself at this level.

VICTOR ALTAMIRANO: EL MAGNIFICO EAGER TO SNAP TWO-FIGHT SKID

Victor Altamirano is another fighter to come through the Contender Series and has gone on to win two of his five fights in the UFC. He comes off back-to-back losses – both via decision – and the 33-year-old will be desperate to snap that an improve on his 12-4 record in Paris.

DANIEL BAREZ VS VICTOR ALTAMIRANO PREDICTION

Flyweights Daniel Barez and Victor Altamirano meet in the prelims and both fighters are pretty desperate to get a win under their belts. Barez has been handed a rare chance and the 35-year-old needs to get a win in the Octagon. Altamirano is a bit more established in the UFC but needs to snap a two-fight skid.

We are firmly in the camp of Altamirano in this one. Barez has a solid record but the level of opponent is significantly lower than that which Altamirano has faced. When he has had the opportunity at the highest level, he has been found wanting and Altamirano can expose that once again here. It is hard to see a stoppage here, but consider Altamirano on the scorecards.

PREDICTION: VICTOR ALTAMIRANO TO WIN VIA DECISION
