C.J. VERGARA: TEXAN COMES OFF MISSED WEIGHT CUT AND DECISION LOSS
CJ Vergara (12-5-1) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Asu Almabayev back in March in a fight that was at a catchweight after he missed weight. That was the fourth time that Vergara failed to make the weight and he has lost the last three fights in which that has happened. He has had plenty of time to prepare for this fight as he seeks to improve his 3-3 record in the UFC.
RAMAZAN TEMIROV: NEWCOMER BRINGS NINE-FIGHT WIN STREAK
27-year-old Uzbek Ramazan Temirov enters the UFC with a 15-2-1 record and is on a nine-fight win streak coming into this one. On top of that, he has won his last four fights in the first round and all four via knockout so his confidence is sky high. It is close to a year since his last fight in Rizin FF but Temirov will surely be ready to go with this big opportunity.
C.J. VERGARA VS RAMAZAN TEMIROV PREDICTION
Ramazan Temirov comes into this bout with some expectation and intrigue around in given his impressive record and the UFC are testing him with a solid opponent right from the start.
Temirov has power but really strong wrestling as you would expect from an eastern European and he will look to control this fight.
Vergara will have his hands full here and he needs to raise his game. He has been sloppy with his weight cuts at times and it will be interesting to see what shape he is in when he gets on the scales on Friday.
Temirov is something of an unknown at this level but we expect him to wrestle his way to victory. Vergara is tough and has never been knocked out but Temirov can get the decision victory.
