FIGHT PREDICTION

This fight may not get quite as many eyeballs on it as the Joshua vs Dubois fight a couple of weeks ago, but make no mistake, this is as good a fight as could be made in boxing right now. Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol are two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world and they now meet with both fighters arguably in their prime – something quite rare based on boxing history.

Both fighters come into this bout with unbeaten records and as the saying goes, ‘somebody's 'O' has got to go’!

Beterbiev’s power is incredible and he has won all 20 of his fights by knockout. Even if he does not get the early stoppage, his power wears his opponents down and he has shown he is just as able to stop opponents later, thus retaining his power late on.

Bivol is a different type of fighter and to outpunch and outbox Canelo Alvarez, shows just how good a pure boxer he is. Bivol has enough power to gain respect, but he is an outstanding boxer that relies on his footwork and movement to outfox his opponents.

The question will be whether Bivol can evade Beterbiev’s power for 12 rounds. He is six years younger than Beterbiev and that could be a key factor over the course of the 36 minutes. He will certainly need to avoid the power shots early on but he is capable of doing that and landing enough to make Beterbiev to think.

We like Bivol’s chances of doing just that and winning a decision here. If there’s a stoppage, it will surely be in favour of Beterbiev. But we like Bivol’s chances of outboxing him and putting on a masterclass to become the unified champion.

TIP: DMITRY BIVOL TO WIN VIA DECISION
