ALEXA GRASSO: CAN THE MEXICAN AVOID DEFEAT FOR A THIRD TIME AGAINST SHEVCHENKO?

Alexa Grasso’s submission win via face crank in their first meeting was considered a major upset. She proved in the second fight that it was no fluke as she fought Shevchenko to a draw. The Mexican is 16-3-1 and after weeks spent with Shevchenko on The Ultimate Fighter, they get to battle it out for a third time at The Sphere.

VALENTINA SHEVCHENKO: CAN SHE REGAIN THE FLYWEIGHT TITLE AND AVENGE HER LOSS?

Valentina Shevchenko is desperate to get the win over Grasso here, something she thought she had achieved in their second meeting. One judge scored the final round 10-8 to Grasso somewhat controversially and that resulted in a draw. She brings her 23-4-1 record into this trilogy fight and her motivation to regain her belt that she held for so long will be greater than ever.

ALEXA GRASSO VS VALENTINA SHEVCHENKO PREDICTION

These two fighters are incredibly well matched and this flyweight title fight promises to be yet another close bout. Grasso will be confident given she has beaten her once and drawn the other. One sense Shevchenko will be more fired up than ever to avenge the loss and regain her title.

We lean towards Shevchenko for this trilogy fight. It really will come down to fine margins and who wants it more when they are in the championship rounds. It is hard to see a stoppage so expect a decision but we just see the belt going back to Shevchenko.

PREDICTION: SHEVCHENKO TO WIN VIA DECISION
