ABUSUPIYAN MAGOMEDOV: 33-FIGHT VETERAN LOOKING TO CLIMB MIDDLEWEIGHT RANKINGS
After two consecutive losses to Sean Strickland and then Caio Borralho, Abus Magomedov (26-6-1) is looking to rebound and following up on his win last time out over Warlley Alves. That fight was at UFC Fight Night 241 in May where he won a unanimous decision and he knows he needs a win here to stay relevant in the division and potentially break into the top 15
BRUNNO FERREIRA: THE HULK AIMING TO MAKE IT THREE WINS IN A ROW
31-year-old Brazilian Brunno Ferreira is aiming to make it three wins in a row at UFC 308 after winning his last two fights via KO/TKO. He stopped Phil Hawes at UFC Fight Night 234 and then Dustin Stoltzfus at UFC on ESPN 57 both via first-round stoppages and he will look aim for a third win of 2024 here. Those two wins came off the first loss of his professional MMA career after he was knocked out by Nursulton Ruziboev in July 2023, thus meaning that none of his 13 fights have gone the distance or even gone past the second round.
ABUSUPIYAN MAGOMEDOV VS BRUNNO FERREIRA PREDICTION
This is a really fascinating fight as the dominant Abus Magomedov aims to continue his bid to get back on track and rise the rankings while Brunno Ferreira is making waves of his own. 11 of Brunno Ferreira’s fights have been stopped in the first round and the other two ended after 12 seconds and then 68 seconds of the second round so he has never been close to going the distance.
That will be Magomedov’s target here to take him into deep waters and it will be interesting to see if he can get enough control and nullify Ferreira’s threat.
Magomedov is not unbeatable and he has been knocked out twice including by Sean Strickland in July 2023. He will go safety first here though and will not risk getting caught. We see him controlling things and being ultra conservative. It may not be what the fans want to see but we see him grinding Ferreira down and taking him to points for the first time in his career or getting a late stoppage.
