Mirra Andreeva vs Coco Gauff prediction

Mirra Andreeva did not lose her serve during the whole match as she defeated Yuliia Starodubtseva 6-1 6-4 in the round-of-16. The Russian has continued her strong form this season and is three matches away from a third WTA 1000 triumph, having won events in Dubai and Indian Wells.

She will take on Coco Gauff who defeated Belinda Bencic 6-4 6-2. She has now made the quarter-finals of every WTA tournament on the current calendar except for Miami. A strong serving performance from the American hugely contributed to her win as Bencic struggled to apply pressure on her service games.

These two have played twice before with Gauff winning on both occasions, including their only match on clay at the French Open. Both matches took place in 2023 when Andreeva had barely started out on the tour. 

She has improved immeasurably as a player in the two years that have followed, and we think the 18-year-old, with her consistent hitting from the baseline and strong footwork, should outlast Gauff in three sets.
