Miomir Kecmanovic vs Marcos Giron Prediction

Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic was on the receiving end of a bye in the round of 16 as Yoshihito Nishioka withdrew from their match so this is his first match since beating Borna Gojo in the first round on Monday.

This tournament is among Kecmanovic’s favourites having reached the final back in 2023 and he will be hoping to go far once again this week.

He now meets Marcos Giron who had a bye of his own in the first round and then he managed a straight-sets win over compatriot Ethan Quinn on Wednesday in the round of 16. 

The pair have met once before and that came in this very tournament back in 2023 at the same stage. Kecmanovic emerged victorious 7-6 6-3 as he went on to reach the final and that will be a positive memory for the Serb.

It is surprisingly Giron who is the marginal favourite for this match but we do not buy into that. Our preference is Kecmanovic and the value that he offers as the underdog.
