Miles Johns: 30-year-old targeting third win over 2024
Miles Johns (15-2 with one no contest) is aiming to win his third fight in 2024 and will relish the opportunity to get back into the Octagon after having multiple fights rearranged recently. Johns was initially scheduled to face Cody Garbrandt in October and then that fight was moved to November. Eventually it was scrapped entirely and now he is facing Lima on this card.
Felipe Lima: The Jungle Boy on 13-fight winning streak
Felipe Lima (13-1) won on his UFC debut last time out when he beat Muhammadjon Naimov via a rear-naked choke. The 26-year-old Brazilian has amassed an impressive record outside of the UFC but it will be interesting to see if he can continue to produce the goods in the Octagon. He is a well-rounded featherweight with reasonable power and a solid set of submission skills and this fights against Johns is a really good test of his credentials.
Miles Johns vs Felipe Lima Prediction
This Is a fascinating match-up between two fighters who have excellent records on paper and this bout will be a really good measurement of their credentials.
Johns has the greater experience and has been fighting in the UFC since 2019. He has won six, lost two and had a no contest during his time with the promotion and would have had another win if his victory over Dan Argueta not been overturned due to a positive test.
Lima has some real momentum behind him having won his last 13 MMA fights. All bar one of those wins has come outside of the UFC however and we will find out whether he is the real deal or not in this fight and in 2025.
Looking at the odds, the value lies with Miles Johns. It is hard to love Felipe Lima at current prices given the lack of experience at this level. Our preferred play in this fight is on this one going to the judges’ scorecards. Neither fighter possesses huge knockout power and with that in mind, we fully expect this to go the distance.
Prediction: Fight to go the distance
