Michel Pereira (31-12-2) saw his eight-fight winning streak come to an end last time out as he suffered a TKO loss at the hands of Anthony Hernandez in October. Prior to that loss, Pereira had won three consecutive Performance of the Night awards thanks to three successive first-round stoppages and he will be hoping to rekindle that magic here.
That will not be easy against Russian 34-year-old Abus Magomedov (27-6-1). After winning on his UFC debut, Magomedov lost the next two fights in a row. He has however responded well and beaten Warlley Alves and Brunno Ferreira in his two fights in 2024. That takes his record in the UFC to 3-2 and while he has shown signs of adapting to life in the Octagon, he does not possess anywhere near the same type of resume that Pereira does.
We like Pereira’s chances in this one although Magomedov has to be respected for his ground game. Pereira is likely to be the more aggressive of the two fighters and if he can defy Magomedov’s attempts to get this fight to the ground, he is dangerous enough to trouble Magomedov who has shown some vulnerability in the striking game.
