Michael van Gerwen vs Stephen Bunting Prediction

There were positives and negatives for Michael van Gerwen, with the Dutchman recording a stunning victory over Luke Littler in the quarter-finals, defying a 113.91 average from the world champion, only to bow out in the semi-finals after squandering several opportunities against Luke Humphries.

The seven-time Premier League champion subsequently opted against participating in the two Pro Tour events at the beginning of week.

Stephen Bunting has had an excellent couple of months having collected titles at the World Masters and Bahrain Darts Masters, but will be keen to get that first Premier League win after having lost in the quarter-finals to Rob Cross last week.

Van Gerwen had previously dominated this particular rivalry, coming out in top in their first 16 meetings, but their last four contests have been shared with Bunting winning 11-7 in their most recent encounter in the final of the World Masters last month.

Both players have played some excellent darts on stage recently and we can expect a high-quality affair that could well go the distance.
