Michael van Gerwen vs James Hurrell Prediction
It’s incredible to think that Michael van Gerwen is yet to win a major TV title this calendar year. Formerly an unstoppable force on the oche, MVG is proven significantly more beatable in recent times and whilst his very best is superior to any other player on the circuit, whether we’ll ever see that again in the World Darts Championship remains to be seen.
James Hurrell is a familiar name to Darts fans who follow the WDF system, having consistently been one of the best players across that field. His doubles accuracy in particular, were noteworthy in a straight-sets win over Jim Long last time out.
Assuming we witness a performance from Michael van Gerwen that replicates what we’ve seen across a number of recent televised tournaments, then James Hurrell is more than capable of taking at least a set off the Dutchman, provided he maintains the efficiency we saw from him on the doubles against Long. Therefore, it’s well worth backing over 3.5 total sets to be played.
Michael van Gerwen vs James Hurrell Tip: Over 3.5 total sets
