The prediction

The Melbourne Demons nightmare season reaches round six with the side still winless and the Fremantle Dockers standing in their way. Coach Simon Goodwin has plenty of criticism directed his way this week and many pundits believe he may only have weeks left to save his job. The losses for the Demons this year have been significant; a 39-point defeat to Essendon in gather round comes off the back of a 39-point defeat at Geelong, a 10-goal drubbing at the hands of the Suns and a similar scoreline against the Kangaroos.

For the Dockers, they come fresh off a comfortable ten-goal win against the Tigers in Adelaide and a 16-point margin against the Bulldogs at home. Since their narrow home loss to the Sydney Swans in round two the Dockers have moved their way up to 8th on the ladder with a host of other teams on three wins.

The Demons will again look to their experienced players such as Max Gawn and Christian Petracca to lead them out of this season long slide. For the Dockers, Josh Treacy kicked six goals last week and is in sharp shooting form. Their other key forward Jye Amiss has a strong history against the Demons, booting four goals in each of the corresponding matches last year.
