McCartney Kessler vs Bianca Andreescu prediction

McCartney Kessler already has a final appearance to her name this season, having reached that stage at the ATX Open, though she did lose to top seed Jessica Pegula. Her transition to clay has not been a successful one so far, as she lost out in the first-round of Rouen to Fiona Ferro. She did win a mammoth first-set tiebreak but still lost 6-7 6-2 7-5.

Bianca Andreescu made her long-awaited return at that same event but lost a close three-set match with Suzan Lames in the first-round. She made a slow start, which was to be expected having been out for six months, losing the first set 6-1 but did grow into the match, winning the second set 6-4 and forcing a tiebreak in the third but just falling short.

Andreescu needs more matches under her belt after being out for so long, but we think Kessler will find a way to make it through and pick up her first win on the surface this year.
