Matteo Berrettini vs Holger Rune Prediction

Matteo Berrettini bounced back from a set down against Cam Norrie in the first round to win in four sets and that will give the 28-year-old a real boost. 

After missing the tournament last year and being knocked out in the first round the year before, this was Berrettini’s first win since his run to the semi-finals in 2022.

He now takes on Dane Holger Rune in what will be a tough second-round match for both players.

Rune is the 13th seed and it took him five sets to beat Zhizhen Zhang on Tuesday. He will need to raise his game against the big-serving Berrettini but he will know he can beat the Italian.

Rune has won their last three previous meetings including the two in 2024. Both of those matches went to a deciding set and that is unsurprising given Berrettini’s quality. Our marginal preference is with Rune but we favour the total sets market here.
