Matteo Arnaldi vs Sebastian Korda prediction

Matteo Arnaldi endured a poor Monte-Carlo Masters, losing to French veteran Richard Gasquet in three sets in the first round. The Italian struggled to dictate much of the rallies and didn’t take many of the chances on offer, winning just three of a possible 11 break point opportunities.

Sebastian Korda also suffered a first-round loss at the first clay court Masters 1000 event of the year. He lost in straight sets to Jiri Lehecka, which included a lengthy second set tiebreak. The American would eventually go on to lose it 9-7 as he lost out 6-3 7-6 overall.

Arnaldi made an encouraging run to the quarter-finals of this event last year, before losing to eventual winner Casper Ruud in straight sets. The Italian is the more accomplished of the two players on clay, having reached the fourth round of the French Open just last year, and we think he’s good value to win and make it through to the second round.
