Marseille Team News: A few injuries

Morocco international attacking midfielder Amine Harit has been injured for a while but had been returning until a recent setback. He remains sidelined alongside Valentin Carboni and Faris Moumbagna with a couple of key defensive doubts such as Chancel Mbemba.

Unavailable: Harit (Injured), Carboni (Injured), Moumbagna (Injured)

Lyon Team News: Fofana a doubt

Pierre Sage has been sacked in midweek and Paulo Fonseca is set to take his place in the Lyon dugout so the team selection is pretty much up in the air. One injury issue they do have is that Belgium international attacker Malick Fofana remains a doubt for this weekend.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Perri; Kumbedi, Clinton Mata, Niakhate, Tagliafico; Veretout, Matic, Tolisso; Cherki, Lacazette, Nuamah

Unavailable:

Questionable: Fofana (Injured)

Marseille vs Lyon Prediction

Marseille have been very entertaining to watch throughout this campaign with their 19 Ligue 1 matches consisting of 63 goals. Roberto De Zerbi’s side begin the weekend’s round of fixtures sitting second in the table but ten points adrift of league leaders Paris Saint-Germain. Their 2-0 loss to Nice in the Derby de la Mediterranee at the Allianz Riviera last weekend means they have managed just three victories in their last seven matches across all competitions. They now face a Lyon side that, with the bizarre decision-making of John Textor, parted company with Pierre Sage, who had done an excellent job with the club. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Ludogorets Razgrad in midweek in the UEFA Europa League and that could be telling of the players’ response to Sage’s sacking so siding with the hosts looks the way to go for this one.
