Marin Cilic vs Jiri Lehecka Prediction

Marin Cilic showed at the end of September in Hangzhou that there is life in him yet at the age of 36 as he won the ATP 250 event there but he has struggled for form since then with a string of first-round eliminations.

His win in the first round against Alexandre Muller 7-6 6-3 was his first win in over a month and that will give him a confidence boost coming into this match.

He now faces Jiri Lehecka, a player 14 years his junior, who he has never met before. Lehecka has been pretty inconsistent since returning from injury and seemingly either enjoys a strong week if he does not get eliminated in the first round or two.

After successive first round losses in his last two events, we expect Lehecka to have good motivation to do well this week especially given the fact he has chosen to play. This represents his final chance to grab some much-needed ranking points this season and we expect him to have too much energy and quality for Cilic here.
