Marie Bouzkova vs Mirra Andreeva Prediction

Marie Bouzkova has a fairly torrid record at the Australian Open, winning just one match in her five previous appearances in Melbourne, but she comes into the event match-sharp after recently participating in the WTA events in both Brisbane and Adelaide.

The 26-year-old was particularly competitive in Brisbane where she claimed victories over Jelena Ostapenko and Victoria Azarenka before losing to eventual champion and world number one Aryna Sabalenka.

17-year-old sensation Mirra Andreeva is many people’s tip as a dark horse for the tournament, and she certainly looked the part in the Brisbane International where she reached the semi-finals – also losing to Sabalenka – while she clinched the Doubles title alongside Diana Shnaider.

The Russian, who reached the last 16 on her debut Australian Open appearance 12 months ago, is unlikely to have it all her own way against a stubborn opponent in Bouzkova, but she should prevail.
