Maria Sakkari vs Jessica Bouzas Maneiro Prediction

Maria Sakkari will kick things off for Greece in their opening match and the world number 32 has not played since the US Open at the end of August. She had to retire in her opening match in New York due to a shoulder problem and she shut the season down so this is her return to action after four months out.

It will be interesting to see whether she can hit the ground running and she will be tested against the talented 22-year-old Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro.

She was comprehensively beaten in her opening match on Friday against Elena Rybakina 6-2 6-3 so she will have to dust herself down and go again here.

Her best chance is that there is serious rust in Sakkari’s game but it is hard to imagine she will be too far off the pace. We would prefer to see how this game starts but our marginal preference is with the Greeks and Sakkari in this one.
