Marcos Giron vs Denis Shapovalov prediction

Marcos Giron has performed well at times this year, having advanced to the third round of the Australian Open for the first time in January. He also reached the third round of Indian Wells, beating Casper Rudd which was the first top-five win in his career. However, his last showing was a defeat in the first round of the Miami Open, where he lost in three sets to Jordan Thompson and gave up 11 break point opportunities.

Denis Shapovalov has enjoyed a real resurgence this season, capped off by winning arguably the biggest title of his career at the Dallas Open in February. He beat three top-ten players - Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul and Casper Rudd - on his way to the title. He backed that up with a semi-final appearance at the Mexican Open.

His Sunshine Double events were less impressive, losing in the third round in both, but they were to Carlos Alcaraz and Fritz.

Giron leads the head-to-head 2-1 and won their only match on clay in Houston, but Shapovalov did win their last match in Acapulco this year. We’re expecting a tight match.
