MARC-ANDRE BARRIAULT: 34-YEAR-OLD AIMING TO AVOID THIRD SUCCESSIVE LOSS
Marc-Andre Barriault (16-8 with one no contest) is coming off successive losses in the Octagon and the Canadian will be desperate to halt this skid. He was unfortunate to see a split decision go against him in January at UFC 297 but he then suffered a knockout loss in June at UFC 303. He can take heart from his last fight out West in Canada where he picked up a unanimous decision win over Eryk Anders in a Fight of the Night display.
DUSTIN STOLTZFUS: KICKBOXER NEEDS WIN AFTER FIVE LOSSES IN LAST SEVEN
32-year-old Dustin Stoltzfus (15-6) is in dire need of a win having lost five of his last seven fights. After earning a shot through Dana White’s Contender Series, Stoltzfus has found the going tough against quality opponents. He has registered wins over Dwight Grant and Punahele Soriano but has been knocked out or submitted in four of his five losses. With his UFC future potentially on the line, he needs a win here.
MARC-ANDRE BARRIAULT VS DUSTIN STOLTZFUS PREDICTION
We have another Canadian on the main card as Marc-Andre Barriault returns to the Octagon to face Dustin Stoltzfus and both fighters are pretty desperate for a win to stay relevant in the UFC’s middleweight division.
Both fighters are enduring challenging times in their veteran careers and need a win here. Barriault has home advantage and support on his side and he will need it.
We like Barriault’s chances here against Stoltzfus who just appears a little out of his depth in the UFC. He was 13-1 in smaller organisations until he reached the UFC and has gone 2-5 since then. Barriault should be able to get a win here and pick up a much-needed W.
PREDICTION: MARC-ANDRE BARRIAULT TO WIN
