Manly Sea Eagles vs St. George Illawarra Dragons prediction
Two old rivals clash in a pivotal match for both. The Sea Eagles retain their place in the top eight despite a loss to the Sharks while the Dragons continue their resurgence with a demolition job against the Titans. They have moved up the ladder to 10th and have certainly displayed more consistency in recent weeks.
The Eagles trailed the Sharks for the most part last week and kept hanging around however the scoreline flattered them with two intercept tries making the scoreboard a little more palatable for supporters.
The Dragons used a five try scoring blitz either side of half time against the Titans to set up a convincing 38-16 victory in Wollongong with both Christian Tuipulotu and Tyrell Sloan grabbing doubles. This will be just the second road game for the Dragons this year, in their only other away game they fell 23-22 to the Eels.
The Sea Eagles have had the better of the Dragons at 4 Pines Park, winning 8 of 13 matches since the Dragons joint venture began in 2003. The Dragons overall record against the Sea Eagles is strong: 23 wins against 13 defeats. The sides have split their last eight matches (4-4).
We think this one stays tight for most of the evening with the home ground advantage getting the Sea Eagles home in a close one.
