Manel Kape: Starboy desperate to bounce back from Mokaev loss

Manel Kape (19-7) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to contender Muhammad Mokaev at UFC 304 so he will be hoping to get back on track with a win here. Prior to that loss, he had won four fights in a row and the Angolan-Portuguese flyweight had really good momentum behind him. Kape has a win over much-vaunted UFC newcomer Kai Asakura on his resume and took champion Alexandre Pantoja to a decision back in 2021. The biggest test will be top see if he has the energy to go again after suffering the setback last time out.

Bruno Silva: Brazilian vet on four-fight skid

Bruno Silva (23-12) has lost his last four fights and six of his last seven so the Brazilian veteran is in desperate need of a win here. Since 2022, he has fought some elite calibre fighters such as Alex Pereira, Gerald Meerschaert, Brendan Allen and Sharabutdin Magomedov where he has suffered defeat. He has been competitive in all of those bouts but he has ultimately lost six in the last seven. It is remarkable that he has never been knocked out in his 35 MMA bouts but he needs to turn his durability into victories now to stay relevant.

Manel Kape vs Bruno Silva Prediction

Manel Kape comes into this bout as a strong favourite but Bruno Silva should not be underestimated. The Brazilian has been hugely competitive at the highest level but has just fallen short in a number of recent decision losses.

Kape is coming off a defeat and it will be interesting to see how he responds to that. Assuming he still has the hunger and desire to make a run towards a title shot, he is still more than capable of doing just that. A win here however is essential.

We like Kape’s chances in this fight and while Silva could certainly spring the surprise, we feel this is Kape’s bout to lose.

Prediction: Manel Kape to win
