Man Utd Preview: Amorim’s project
Manchester United began the Ruben Amorim era with a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town at Portman Road at the weekend. The Red Devils took the lead within 90 seconds but it would be fair to suggest they were second best for much of the rest of the game.
Amorim has said his side will have to suffer in the early stages of his tenure as they get to grips with his methods. United have won just seven of their 19 matches across all competitions so far this season with three of those seven wins under interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Bodo/Glimt Preview: Entertaining Bodo
Kjetil Knudsen has performed wonders up in the Arctic Circle with Bodo/Glimt and it is a bit of a surprise that he remains in charge of the Norwegians. They narrowly missed out on UEFA Champions League qualification with Crvena Zvezda overturning a playoff deficit in August.
Bodo have started this season’s UEFA Europa League league phase campaign by collecting seven points from their opening four matches. They did most recently suffer a surprise 2-1 defeat at home to Azeri champions Qarabag earlier this month.
Man Utd Team News: Defensive issues
Ruben Amorim has immediately switched United to a 3-4-2-1 system with Amad Diallo filling in at right wing-back at the weekend but they do have several defensive issues with Leny Yoro not yet fully fit, whilst the likes of Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez are all also unlikely to feature.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Evans; Diallo, Mainoo, Eriksen, Shaw; Mount, Fernandes; Hojlund
Unavailable: Yoro (Fitness)
Questionable: Lindelof (Injured), Maguire (Injured), Martinez (Injured), Collyer (Injured)
Bodo/Glimt Team News: Several injuries
There are several injury issues for Bodo/Glimt this week as they travel to Manchester as Syver Skeide deals with an ACL injury with Samuel Burakovsky out with an ankle injury. Both Daniel Bassi and Gaute Vetti are also sidelined for this one.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Khaikin; Sjovold, Nielsen, Bjortuft, Bjorkan; Evjen, Berg, Saltnes; Zinckernagel, Mikkelsen, Hauge
Unavailable: Bassi (Injured), Skeide (Injured), Vetti (Injured), Burakovsky (Injured)

Man Utd vs Bodo/Glimt Prediction
With the likes of former AC Milan forward Jens Petter Hauge and former Watford attacker Philip Zinckernagel, Bodo/Glimt will fancy their chances on the counter-attack at Old Trafford against a Manchester United side learning new coaching methods. United remain favourites with their home advantage and there were some reasons to be positive against Ipswich at the weekend but it is unlikely to be a comfortable victory.
