Magomed Gadzhiyasulov: Dagestani fighter puts unbeaten record on the line

Magomed Gadzhiyasulov (9-0) is the latest fighter from Dagestan to bring an outstanding record into the UFC and have that air of invincibility about him. He has won all nine of his professional MMA bouts and after coming through Dana White’s Contender Series, he won his debut back in June. He picked up a majority decision against Brendson Ribeiro and he will now look to build some more momentum in the UFC by beating Lopes.

Bruno Lopes: Contender Series victor making his UFC debut

Bruno Lopes (13-1) is a Brazilian light heavyweight who also came through the contender Series like Gadzhiyasulov did. That was actually his second attempt as he joined the Contender Series in 2023 but lost to Brendson Ribeiro – the man Gadzhiyasulov beat on his UFC debut. He now gets his own show in the big time at the age of 31 and Brunao will be desperate to capitalise on that.

Magomed Gadzhiyasulov vs Bruno Lopes Prediction

We have another bout between two Contender Series graduates here as Magomed Gadzhiyasulov takes on Bruno Lopes. The interesting standout factor ahead of this bout is that the duo have a mutual opponent in Brendson Ribeiro.

Gadzhiyasulov managed to get the decision win over him last time out while Lopes was knocked out by him. if that is any measure, Gadzhiyasulov simply had to be favoured.

It is always a challenge to assess the levels of fighters who have spent the majority of their careers outside of the UFC such is the gulf in quality of the fights and the matchmaking.

However, we favour Gadzhiyasulov based on his body of work and we can see the win coming on the judges’ scorecards.

Prediction: Magomed Gadzhiyasulov to win
