Madison Keys vs Iga Swiatek Prediction
Ten years on from her first Australian Open semi-final, Madison Keys reached the last four in Melbourne for the third time in her career by ousting Elina Svitolina in an absorbing quarter-final contest.
Now on a ten-match winning run after going all the way at the Adelaide International prior to the Grand Slam, Keys fought back from losing the first set against Svitolina, increasing her intensity and changing up her tactics to take control of the match. The American only converted two of her nine break points in the encounter, but it was enough to see her through.
Easily the most impressive player in the women’s draw during the tournament, Iga Swiatek swept past Emma Navarro in the last eight for the loss of just three games, continuing the form which has seen her dominate every match so far in Melbourne.
The Pole – a five-time Grand Slam champion – has reached the last four at the Australian Open for a second time, and her performances have seen the bookies install her as the favourite to go all the way, even ahead of world number one Aryna Sabalenka.
Winner of both their meetings on 2024, Swiatek has won four out of five previous matches with Keys, and although the American is enjoying a fine winning streak right now, Swiatek has been playing at a higher level this past week. Given her current trajectory, the Pole can be expected to overpower her opponent and win this in straight sets.
