Mackenzie McDonald vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina Prediction

After a career-best year in 2023 where he reached 49 in the world, Mackenzie McDonald had a 2024 to forget and the American has some improvement to make if he is going to return to the ATP Tour on a regular basis.

He has had a solid enough start to 2025 on the ATP Challenger Tour but he will take great heart from his first-round win which saw him beat Japanese legend Kei Nishikori in three sets.

He now faces Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina who is seeded number eight in Delray Beach this week. The 25-year-old has played some good tennis in the first couple of months of the year and he got through three rounds in the Australian Open beating Felix Auger-Aliassime and Jakub Mensik before Tommy Paul knocked him out.

He will fancy his chances of getting the win here and he played pretty well ion beat Taro Daniel in the first round. He still has levels to go and he is more than capable of playing much better which should be too much for McDonald here.
