Lulu Sun vs Varvara Gracheva prediction

Lulu Sun has struggled to make much of an impact this season, with a string of first-round losses over a host of tournaments. She did make the third-round of Indian Wells and that remains her best finish at an event so far. 

She now takes on Varvara Gracheva for a place in the second-round. Gracheva got through both of her first-round matches in Charleston and Rouen but wasn't able to get any further in either competition, losing to Elise Mertens and Jessica Bouzas Maneiro respectively. The Frenchwoman lost at the same stage last season to Lucia Bronzetti and will hope to go much further this time around. 

Gracheva leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a win in Auckland early last year but they’ve never faced each other on clay before. Despite being lower-ranked, Gracheva has more clay court tennis under her belt and we’re backing her to win this.
