Luke Littler vs Ryan Joyce Prediction
Luke Littler once again overcame some early-match nerves last time out, but ultimately found his A-game to see off Ian White in the third round, crashing in 12 180s in the process.
The 17-year-old is clearly feeling the pressure of being the favourite to go all the way, but his considerable talent has carried him through so far, and you can only see him improving from here on in. It’s a testament to just how strong he is that he managed to post a record set average in his first-round victory over Ryan Meikle despite generally being well below his best.
Ryan Joyce has gradually improved with each passing round and came through a thriller with Ryan Searle in the third round, defying a 100+ average from ‘Heavy Metal’ to progress in a deciding set on Saturday.
Known for his ruthless finishing, Joyce converted 62.1% of his double attempts against Searle – over the course of seven sets – and he will need every ounce of that clinical edge if he is to hold on to Littler here.
Littler though, will be feeling more settled now and the longer format should allow him to find his groove. Should he consistently find his top gear, then a nine-darter could be on the cards.
