Luke Littler vs Nathan Aspinall Prediction
Luke Littler was put through his paces in the fourth round by a clinical Ryan Joyce, who simply wouldn’t budge for the majority of the contest, but the teenager produced an excellent deciding set to continue his bid for a first world title.
It was statistically the best display of the tournament from Littler, who averaged 103.14, but he will want to improve on his 35% checkout rate, which he has recorded in his last two matches.
It was an entirely different fourth-round encounter for Nathan Aspinall, who dropped just two legs in a 4-0 whitewash victory against a surprisingly under-par Ricardo Pietreczko.
‘The Asp’ has gradually improved his level throughout the event and will now feature in a first Alexandra Palace quarter-final since he reached back-to-back semi-finals in 2019 and 2020.
These two know each other extremely well given that they are both under the same management company, and they have met eight times over the last year. Unfortunately for Aspinall though, Littler has won seven of those meetings. The youngster has been visibly nervy in this event, perhaps for the first time in his career, but his power scoring has been enough to see him through and we’re backing him to cover a -2.5 sets handicap.
