Luke Littler vs Gerwyn Price Prediction

It's fair to say Luke Littler has gone off the boil since his nightly win in Newcastle at the end of March. The world champion was a surprise quarter-final loser to Chris Dobey in Berlin last week, and after skipping the weekend's European Tour event, performed well below his usual level in the two Players Championship events.

The opposite can be said of Gerwyn Price, who has been playing some exceptional darts lately. The Welshman reached the final in Berlin last week and finds himself very much in the playoff mix right now.

Another trophy came the way of the former world champion on Wednesday as he claimed the Players Championship 12 title in Leicester, just over a week after his previous success in the series of floor events. Wednesday's run concluded with a fine 8-7 victory over the talented Josh Rock in the final, with the Iceman averaging 112.25 and 110.80 in his quarter-final and semi-final respectively.

Table-topper Littler is the heavy favourite here and will have the lions share of the support in Manchester, but given his slight dip in form combined with Price's recent brilliance, there is value to be had in going against the bookies. Price hit a nine-darter in Manchester last year, and we're backing him to have some joy again.
