Luke Humphries vs Luke Littler Prediction

Last week in Brighton, Luke Humphries fell at the quarter-final stage for the first time in this year’s Premier League when he was defeated by an inspired Rob Cross, who averaged over 111 in a 6-4 win.

‘Cool Hand Luke’ remains top of the table though, and faces second-placed Littler for the third time in the event this year, with the pair sharing a win apiece so far. The world number one lost his opener to Mike De Decker in the Belgian Darts Open over the weekend, but he was the runner-up in Players Championship 6 on Wednesday and fired in a nine-darter on his way to the final.

Littler has produced some sensational darts lately. The youngster went all the way in Brighton last week and followed that up with success in the aforementioned Belgian Darts Open. His 19-match winning run was ended in the semi-finals of Players Championship 5 on Tuesday, but on his way to the last four he hit a nine-darter and averaged a phenomenal 122 in one of his matches.

It is taking some superb performances to defeat Littler at the moment, and while Humphries is one of a handful of players who can live with the youngster at his best, it is hard to look beyond the world champion. In what is sure to be a high-quality match between the two best players in the world, consider backing over 9.5 legs.
