Luciano Darderi vs Tristan Boyer prediction

Luciano Darderi arrives in Marrakech after reaching the final of the Naples Challenger last week.

The 23-year-old missed out on the title after losing 6-3 3-6 6-7 to Vit Kopriva but will be confident of moving deeper in the Grand Prix Hassan II draw on his favoured surface.

Darderi has picked up a number of Challenger titles on clay and featured in the main draws in Buenos Aires, Rio and Santiago back in February. 

Boyer may have predominantly played on hardcourt so far this year, including a surge through qualifying to the second round at the Australian Open, but he is no slouch on the dirt.

Challenger titles at Campinas and Montevideo at the back end of 2024 show he has clay-court prowess, although he did fall to another Italian in the shape of Federico Arnabold in the opening round in Naples last time out. 

Boyer was a 6-3 7-5 in their only previous meeting in a semi-final showdown at Antofagasta two years ago, but we like Darderi for this win given his longer match-time on clay recently as well as the current ranking gap between the players.
