Lorenzo Sonego vs Learner Tien Prediction

Lorenzo Sonego is enjoying a fine Australian Open campaign this year and the Italian has a golden chance of making it to the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam for the very first time.

He has reached the round of 16 in all four Grand Slams tournaments in recent years but has never made it to the last eight so he will fired up to achieve a new personal best.

He comes off a four-set win over Hungarian Fabian Marozsan and it was thoroughly deserved as he was better in most facets of the game.

After facing and beating one prodigy in 18-year-old Brazilian Joao Fonseca, he now meets another in 19-year-old American Learner Tien.

Tien followed up his stunning win over fifth seed Daniil Medvedev by romping to a straight-sets win over Corentin Moutet in the third round.

It was not his best display and he will hope to serve much better here but his return game won him the match as he converted six of the 15 break points he generated. He will want to improve on his serve but there is so much of his game to like and the psychological side of his game is so impressive.

We like his chances here but Sonego is playing really well too. Our play is on set betting with this likely to go four or five sets with neither player likely to dominate for long spells.

Lorenzo Sonego vs Learner Tien Tip: Over 3.5 sets
