Lorenzo Sonego vs Fabian Marozsan Prediction
Lorenzo Sonego came through a marathon five-setter against 18-year-old Brazilian prodigy Joao Fonseca to make it through to the third round. The Italian did enough on his serve to be broken just once in five sets and his return game was strong to create enough opportunities to grind out the win.
That will give the 29-year-old a real boost in confidence as Fonseca has been playing some outstanding tennis but Sonego had the clear edge.
He now faces a tricky customer in Fabian Marozsan who has been involved in two marathons of his own. After overcoming Thiago Seyboth Wild in the five sets in the first round, Marozsan had another five-setter against 17th-seed Frances Tiafoe. He showed great determination to come through that after being 0-1 and 1-2 down in sets to eventually get the win.
The pair have never met before on the ATP Tour which is somewhat surprising but that only adds to the intrigue of this match. We marginally prefer Sonego who may just have that bit more energy in his body for what could be another long match. There is not a huge amount to separate these two here so we expect a long match but Sonego to edge it.
Lorenzo Sonego vs Fabian Marozsan Tip: Lorenzo Sonego to win and over 3.5 sets
