Liverpool Preview: On three fronts
Liverpool rode their luck in midweek but managed to pull off a 1-0 win against the run of play away at the Parc des Princes against French champions Paris Saint-Germain the other day with a late Harvey Elliott winner in the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie.
The Reds begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting 13 points clear of Arsenal at the top-of-the-table with just one loss in their 28 matches so far this season. They also face Newcastle United in the EFL Cup final at Wembley Stadium next weekend.
Southampton Preview: Saints requiring a miracle
Southampton, despite a change in management with Ivan Juric replacing Russell Martin in mid-December, have struggled throughout the campaign as they sit rock-bottom in the Premier League, 13 points adrift of safety and eight below the team directly above them in the table.
Southampton, still attempting to simply avoid Derby County’s record lowest points tally of 11 points in the Premier League during the 2007/08 campaign, come into this one on the back of three successive defeats in which they have conceded 11 goals.

Liverpool vs Southampton Prediction
Liverpool have an eased fixture list in March due to their elimination from the FA Cup and games crammed into February so this is their only Premier League game of the month, allowing them to focus on games against PSG and Newcastle. Saints may be given belief against a potentially distracted and rotated Liverpool side but, to be frank, they are one of the worst teams in Premier League history and a comfortable, heavy home win is to be expected at Anfield.
