Liverpool Preview: The Slot machine

It has been a magnificent campaign for Liverpool throughout the opening few months since the appointment of Feyenoord boss Arne Slot over the summer. The Reds have managed to win 21 out of 25 matches across all competitions at the start of this season.

The hosts come into this one on the back of a thrilling and entertaining 6-3 defeat of Tottenham Hotspur in north London last weekend. Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah both hit braces with other goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Leicester Preview: Ruud needs a response

Leicester City begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just outside of the bottom three and the relegation places after Ruud van Nistelrooy started his reign with four points from two matches but the Foxes now come into this one on the back of back-to-back losses.

The visitors were hammered 4-0 by Newcastle United at St James’ Park almost a couple of weeks ago before they then suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend with first-half strikes from Goncalo Guedes, Rodrigo Gomes and Matheus Cunha.

Liverpool Team News: Couple of injuries

Liverpool are dealing with a couple of defensive injury concerns for the visit of Leicester to Anfield. France international centre-back Ibrahima Konate is expected to be sidelined until the New Year alongside Northern Ireland international right-back Conor Bradley.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Nunez

Unavailable: Konate (Injured), Bradley (Injured)

Leicester Team News: Vardy a doubt

Club captain Jamie Vardy faces a late fitness test ahead of the trip to Anfield after picking up a knock against Wolves. Mads Hermansen also remains a doubt for this one and that means Jakub Stolarczyk is expected to start due to the poor performances of Danny Ward.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Stolarczyk; Justin, Coady, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Skipp, Soumare; Ayew, El Khannouss, Mavididi; Daka

Unavailable: Pereira (Injured), Ndidi (Injured), Fatawu (Injured)

Questionable: Hermansen (Injured), Vardy (Injured)

Liverpool vs Leicester Prediction

Arne Slot’s style has been a little more controlled than Jurgen Klopp’s in Liverpool but they have now conceded seven goals in their last three Premier League games with back-to-back 2-2 draws against Newcastle United and Fulham before that 6-3 loss to Spurs. They now face a Leicester City side that are almost destined for the drop despite sitting outside of the bottom three. A comfortable and heavy Liverpool win is to be expected for this one, especially at home.

Liverpool vs Leicester Tip: Liverpool to win -1 handicap
